May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month; irecognitionAmigo Insurance decided to share some ways in which you can help prevent motorcycle accidents on the road. Whether you are a motorcyclist or not, you can make a difference.

Road safety depends on the motorcyclist and the other drivers on the road. If you plan to buy a motorcycle any time soon, you should make sure to buy one that suits you. The right bike for you should not be a decision based solely on the physical attributes of bike. When choosing a bike, you should make sure that your feet reach the ground while you are sitting on it. Furthermore, you should be able to reach all the controls in front of you with no problem.

When riding your bike, you should also be aware of your position. The road is normally full of large and powerful cars. So, make sure that the cars around you can see you. Avoid any blind spots and consistently check your surroundings. Most importantly, make sure to wear clothes and a helmet that will protect you while you are driving
