Teen Drivers

Has your teen asked you for driving lessons? If so, you might be worried about your teen on the road. Amigo Insurance discusses some ways that you can help your teen become a safe driver.

Most of the time, people learn from seeing. Before you teach your teenager how to drive, make sure you are setting a good example. When you are driving with your teen in the car, make sure to drive how you want your teenager to drive. Do not speed, pass a light, or break any laws. Make sure to stop when you see a stop sign and make sure to use your turn signals when you are turning. Your teenager will most likely think back to how they have seen you drive when they are on the road.

Also, make sure to stay by your teen’s side as they are practicing. When they are behind the steering wheel, sit in the passenger seat and watch over any blind spots they might have. You could offer some advice if you notice areas they can improve upon. Just remember that your teenager is probably feeling stressed as they are learning, so be patient and understanding with them.
